When viewed from above, three rings of hills – or concentric ridges – border the landscape. Upon closer inspection, the hills yield spectacular rock faces and hundreds of small caves.

One of the main benefits of volcanic soil is its fertility. And, in contrast to the dry bush found throughout much of Africa, this area boasts thriving grass plains where you can witness herds of antelope grazing, and catch a glimpse of Africa’s Big Five. The common areas of the lodge include a fire pit, where a campfire is made every night. Here, guests can enjoy the romance of the African night, including its millions of stars and haunting animal calls.
