Milissa Naidoo
Milissa Naidoo is our brilliant Rooms Division Manager at The Portswood Hotel, a smiling, friendly face always ready to welcome you to the hotel.
As a little girl Milissa always had an interest in tourism and a desire to travel the world. Her love and passion for the tourism industry began when she decided to study Tourism Management at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
She excelled at school, and once her diploma was complete, she was offered an internship with Mantis Collection at the world-renowned Shamwari Game Reserve. She had an inherent love for working in the bush, and with her constant passion to grow and develop her skills, she moved on to work for the elite and pristine Gorah Elephant Camp at Hunter Hotels. Eventually, Milissa developed a curiosity for the urban lifestyle hotel life and decided to take the risk and fly to Cape Town with a one-way ticket.
On the 1st of April 2008, Milissa began her next chapter at Legacy Hotels and Resorts, working as an Assistant Front Office Manager at The Commodore Hotel. From her humble start, she soon climbed the ladder to Front Office Manager. Under the guidance and training of a brilliant Executive Management Team, Milissa grew into the wonderful woman she is today as a person and a professional.
Milissa believes that her success in life can be attributed to the healthy foundation on which she began life, with her morals and values having contributed considerably to her becoming who she is today. This ties into her philosophy, which is “be true to you and follow your passion and give it your all, and you will naturally excel”.
Milissa describes herself as a fun-loving energetic wife and mother to the most adorable son. Family is an extremely important part of her life, and she feels that is the reason she has been with Legacy Hotels and Resorts for 14 years, as in this company, you are a part of a larger family.
Recently, during these difficult, challenging and uncertain times, Milissa was once again promoted, this time to the Rooms Division Manager of both The Commodore and Portswood Hotels. She believes this new venture and chapter of her life has allowed her to open herself up to new challenges and has allowed her to become a powerhouse at the forefront.
Milissa is excited to see what the future holds, and believes that despite the uncertainty, the tourism industry will be revived and thrive again. This industry is all about working together as a group for guests whose lives can be changed by a life-changing experience - starting here.
