If there’s one thing that can enhance even the most glorious African bush experience, it's sumptuous dishes prepared to exquisite perfection. Read on to find out how the team at Kwa Maritane create that extra special experience every day.

The culinary team at Kwa Maritane prides itself on offering guests a satisfying variety of delights that include an array of traditional African and other dishes, to please and appease even the pickiest of palates.

The Kwa Lefakeng restaurant serves a full breakfast, a choice of a lunch buffet or a lighter lunch menu, and its famous carvery-style dinner buffet featuring a variety of international dishes, daily.

In addition to the dinner buffet, a typical Friday night at the restaurant offers guests a selection of local fish chosen from the featured “Fisherman’s Catch” evening menu. On Saturday nights it’s a meat-eater’s dream come true, as chefs switch over to the carnivorous delights of the Butcher’s Grill menu.

The Bush Braai Boma (dinner in the bush), located in the Kwa Potokwe Boma is well known, and frankly celebrated, internationally. Inside the gently bubbling Boma pots are such traditional, flavourful favourites as oxtail and kudu potjie, and, served from the grill, is a Kwa Maritane speciality - eland steaks.

In the summer, welcome drinks at the Boma comprise of a home brew of a bespoke Kwa Maritane Sangria, whereas in winter guests enjoy a homemade authentic Glühwein that warms the very cockles of the heart.

Sundays are perhaps the most popular dining day, and feature lunch on the top terrace overlooking the park, with sweeping views of nature at its very finest. Here guests can enjoy superbly prepared lamb on the spit, slow roasted to ensure it is quite possibly the most succulent lamb they have ever tasted.

A game drive and accompanying sundowners can leave guests surprisingly hungry, and because Kwa Maritane chefs ensure that nobody ever goes hungry, snacks including dried fruit kebabs, biltong and roasted nuts are provided. It’s the perfect way to end a wonderful day – viewing nature as it was intended to be seen, with a glass of wine in one hand and biltong in the other.
