After a luscious summer, our Filed Guides have had to prepare for what we call ‘Fire Season’. Our Guiding team, headed by our Head Guide Andre van Rensburg, have completed the arduous task of clearing the thick bush around the lodge. This is done to ensure that in the unfortunate event that a fire breaks out in the park, the lodge and its surroundings will be protected.

Once the bulk of the thick bush was cut, with the help of a bush cutter, the team then commenced with controlled fire breaks all around the lodge. So don’t be alarmed to find burnt vegetation in the park and around the lodge, should you visit us in the upcoming weeks. It is all part of a greater purpose, and of utmost importance.
