What Is Microneedling?

The minimally invasive Microneedling improves myriad skincare concerns by promoting collagen production. And it does so by using fine, small needles that puncture the skin on the surface level. Sounds strange, yes, but Microneedling activates the skin’s own repair response by producing these tiny wounds that need remedying. So as your skin heals itself, it produces collagen.

What to Expect

SkinPen® works by creating a series of hundreds of microscopic channels into the dermis to stimulate the skin’s natural production of new collagen and elastin, helping skin to look and feel healthier. The needles cycle at 100+ stamps/second, potentially creating 1600+ microchannels per second when moving the SkinPen®.

During a Microneedling treatment, we thoroughly cleanse the area and apply a hyaluronic acid-based gel to the skin, which allows the device to glide more easily over the surface. Also, the gel absorbs into the skin and contributes to faster wound healing and to the skin’s plumper appearance after the procedure.

A full-face procedure takes about 30-45 minutes, and it includes a growth factor mask to speed up recovery. The Skin Pen Microneedling procedure involves three passes over the skin surface in first a horizontal direction, then vertical, and the final pass is performed in a circular motion.
